Bird House Silent Auction

City Gallery is hosting a “Create Your Bird House” silent auction fundraiser for the Galax-Carroll-Grayson Animal Shelter and a rescue shelter.  More than 50 bluebird houses have been donated by Collins and Associates of Independence, VA.  We ask the public to decorate the bird houses and then return them to the gallery for the auction. This is a great project for adults as well as children.

We’ll have several auction dates to spread out the project over the next few months since display space is limited at the gallery. For the first cycle, bring your decorated birdhouse in by April 29. Bidding on the first group of birdhouses begins May 2 and ends May 31.  You can place your bid in person or by phone!  Winning bidders will have a great new birdhouse to take home and install for those beautiful bluebirds.

You can pick up a birdhouse at City Gallery Thursdays-Saturdays and Mondays from 10am-5pm.  Made of unfinished pine, the exterior decoration is to be designed and painted by you. Some suggestions: abstract design, realism, floral, cartoon, nature scene, traditional music or other themes.

We’re open 10 am to 5 pm Mondays, and Wednesday through Saturday.

Dorita & David Reyen – Fiber Artists & Painters  

Join us for a long overdue welcome to Dorita and David Reyen who became gallery members near the beginning of the pandemic. They create stunning designs on silk and other fibers as well as working in other art mediums.  

As always, we’ll have lots of great food and lots of fun! We hope you can join us.
